Help Haiti
We don't think there is a person in the world right now that can see the
images on nightly TV and not feel compassion for the people of Haiti
and what they have gone through with this earthquake. No matter how
hard times are here in America, this type of catastrophic event can
quickly put things into perspective.
Haiti is one nation of only two in the Americas that claim French as
the official language (Canada is the other). The island was settled by
the French in the 17th century. It is the poorest nation in our Hemisphere.
With this strong French background, it is only logical that the French Club
students at Eisenhower High School - as well as Stevenson, Ford, Shelby
and Malow - immediately felt the need to do something to support them
during a time of incredible disaster. They decided on tees to get the word out and show their solidarity.
The design had to be clean and red to show the urgency and aid needed. Hence the tee you see above.
These were being sold in the schools throughout the past week with a portion of the cost going to COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL , through which the French Club sponsors a young Haitian girl.
We applaud the efforts of our students to help others, and are happy to assist them in their endeavor!
If you would like to contact/donate directly to CI, please to go to their website.
The Haitian flag states under its crest - "L'Union Fait la Force", meaining "In Union there is Strength". This could never be more true than right now.
